Sloping 96E, Office Building The Curve, Amsterdam, NL
Sunshield always finds a solution. This is not meant to be presumptuous, it is a basic mental attitude. Extraordinary assignments are also met with determination; "We find a solution!".
The The Curve project in Amsterdam is a good example of this. This striking asymmetrical office building has 175 window elements spread over 5 floors. These window elements vary in size, angle and slope. All 175 are different!
Due to the unique architecture of the building, an external solution was excluded from the start. Just like a standard interior system. Finally, an outdoor solution was installed. But on the inside.
A carrier is usually mounted on frames. Regardless of whether it concerns an outdoor or an indoor situation. The carriers are then hidden from view by the louver system.
At The Curve, where an outside system is installed on the inside, the carriers are visible. Which in turn gives a special cachet to the project.
For The Curve, Sunshield has designed a system with the 96-E louver. Each individual slat is unique. Lengthwise and/or the ends are sawn at unique angles. Customization at its best.
The aluminum parts such as slats and the carriers are coated in RAL 7043, also known as traffic grey B. The plastic parts are in black.
