Polygons, 155E, Buitenhuis Villabouw, Vleuten, NL
Vleuten, part of the city of Utrecht, has a rich history. De Haar Castle is even the largest castle in the Netherlands. And with various lakes and parks, Vleuten also offers plenty of outdoor fun.
Here, a residence has been fitted with unique louvers, by Sunshield. Commissioned by Buitenhuis Villabouw, the front and rear facades of a detached house have been fitted with louver systems.
The pentagon at the front measures over four metres at the base and has a height of four metres. The polygon on the garden side is slightly narrower than four metres but is over four metres high.
The residents opted for the 155-E louver with a width of 155 mm. The step size, the distance between the louvers, is 14 centimetres. Plenty of room for daylight and a view.
The profile of the 155-E shows a floor. As a result, the louvers not only overlap, but also interlock. The 88-E and 107-E have a similar profile but are narrower.
Both louver systems are equipped with a motor. These motors are controlled independently of each other. With a remote control, users can set the slats in any desired position.
The aluminium parts are coated in RAL 7021. Due to the gloss level of 30%, the black grey has a matt appearance. The plastic components, such as the clips that hold the slats, are black.
