Rectangle/triangle, 96E, Modern villa, Overloon, NL
In Overloon, on the outskirts of the Brabantse Peel, stands a modern villa designed by Baas architects. Sunshield has fitted the curtain wall of this detached house with two louver systems.
The window covers the entire facade, from the ground to the ridge. The window is more than 3.5 meters wide and almost 8 meters high. Together, the two systems cover an area of 11.5 m2.
By choosing two motors, both louvre systems can be operated independently of each other. In this case with a remote control which allows the residents to open and close the parts individually or simultaneously.
The residents have opted for the 96-E louver. A blade with a width of 96 mm. This louver has a step size of 90 mm. This means that when the slats are open, you have a view of 90 mm between the louvers.
The louvers, the rack arms and all other aluminium parts, are coated in black/grey (RAL 7021) with a gloss level of 70%. The injection moulded plastic parts are finished in black.
The contrast of the white walls and the black-gray louvers emphasizes the sleek design of the beautiful villa. The aim of the residents was maximum protection against heating by the sun. That worked out well.
