Triangles, 88E, Private Home, Denekamp, NL
In the picturesque town of Denekamp, in the province of Overijssel (NL), a new house is equipped with two louver systems. Both sunshields are triangular in shape and have a combined surface of almost 16 m2.
The larger window on the left (seen from outside) covers about 2/3 of the area and is a bedroom window. The smaller external blind on the right shields the bathroom window.
Both louvers have their own motor, so they can be operated independently. If both systems are opened the same amount, it is not noticeable that you look at two separate louver systems.
For the residents, the goal was not only to protect against too much sunlight and heat, but also to achieve maximum blackout. They appreciate a good night's sleep.
Precisely for the desired night's sleep, the home owner chose the 88-E louver, This blade comes with a groove. Slats overlap by definition. The 88-E louvers also hook into each other through the groove, they interlock. Exactly that makes the 88-E ideal for darkening bedrooms.
In case you are wondering, the 88-E louver gets its name from its height; 88 mm. The entire louver system is executed in RAL 9011 – graphite black. Which also contributes to a good night sleep.
