Rectangle/triangles, 150E, Residence, Hilvarenbeek, NL
The municipality of Hilvarenbeek (NL) is located between Tilburg and the Belgian border. The biggest tourist attraction is Safari Park Beekse Bergen. You can fall asleep, and wake up, among wild animals.
Here, the front and back facades of a loft house are equipped with unique louvers. By Sunshield. These facades are designed as curtain walls and consist mainly of glass.
Both facades are almost eight meters wide and high. The louver systems are installed on the second floor and measure over 7 meters wide and 5 meters high.
The facade louvers on both sides are divided into two systems. Each with its own motor so that they can be operated independently of each other. This is done with a remote control.
The windows start at the base as a rectangle. After 1.30 meters, the shape changes into a triangle that then continues to the ridge of the roof. The slats follow this design closely.
The residents opted for the 150-E louver, a blade with a width of 150 millimetres. When the louvers are fully open, the view between the slats is 14 centimetres. Lots of space for daylight and a view.
All aluminium parts are coated in RAL 9005, jet black. A fine grain is mixed into the coating powder, giving the aluminium components a tangible and visible relief that enhances the exclusive look.
Due to the degree of gloss in combination with the fine structure, the black colour has a matt appearance. The plastic parts, such as the clips that hold the blades, are made in black.
