Triangle, 96E, Veldman Zonwering, Residence, Ameland, NL
Ameland is an inhabited Wadden island that belongs to the Dutch province of Friesland. The Wadden Islands mainly consist of sand dunes. On the east side of the island is 'Het Oerd' located, a nature reserve where many bird species live. Ameland is therefore popular with cyclists, hikers and birdwatchers alike.
Commissioned by Veldman Zonwering in Heerenveen, a detached house on Amerland is equipped with unique louvers. From Sunshield. The installation was taken care of by Veldman Zonwering.
The triangular shape of the louver system fits in nicely with the overhang and the point of the top facade. The base of the isosceles triangle is 5 meters, the height measures 3 meters.
The owners of the residence have opted for the 96-E louver. A slat with a width of 96 mm. When the louvers are fully open, a view of 9 cm is created between the slats.
The aluminium parts, like the wooden facade cladding, are matt coated in RAL 9004. This RAL color is also called signal black. The plastic parts are also black.
Due to the salty sea air, the louver system is provided with a seaside coating. The aluminium gets an even more thorough pickling removal than usual. After this pre-treatment, the louvers are coated twice. This special treatment increases the durability of the coating.
