Triangles, 153W, Bouwbedrijf Houtman, Villa, Maassluis, NL
In the area around the South Holland municipality of Maassluis you will find several lakes and polders. So, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun. And the North Sea is only a half hour bike ride away.
Here is a rural villa equipped with unique louver systems. By Sunshield, commissioned by Aannemingsbedrijf Houtman in Gouda.
The modern farmhouse has four gables with large triangular windows. The glass sections on the left and right-side gables and front gable are equipped with louvre systems.
At the base these are 9 meters wide and almost 5.5 meters high, beautiful isosceles triangles. A special feature is that the louvers are placed behind steel frames.
The louvers are divided into two systems. One below and the other above the horizontal centre beam of the steel frames. The three windows are therefore equipped with six louver systems.
The residents have opted for the 153-W louver. This is a 153 mm wide and tapered louver made of Western Red Cedar. If the slats are fully open, a spacious view of 14 cm is created.
The wood is not treated, which means that it turns grey under the influence of weather conditions and sun. A major advantage of greyed slats is that you do not have to worry about them.
The aluminium systems that carry the slats are coated in RAL 9005. The jet-black coating has a matt appearance and is provided with a fine structure.
This structure gives the coating a visible and tactile relief, which further enhances the exclusive appearance. The plastic parts such as the clips that hold the slats are black.
