Sliding Panels, Private Home, Goring, UK
Goring-on-Thames (or Goring for short) is a village and civil parish situated on the River Thames in South Oxfordshire, England.
Here is a beautiful detached house equipped with unique sliding louver panels. Completely custom designed and produced by Sunshield.
The sliding panels each have an area of a just over 5 m2. Two panels are guided in rails of 4.8 m, the rails of the third panel measure no less than 10 m.
For an optimal result, the rails were integrated in the floor and ceiling by the contractor during construction. The end result is smooth-running louver panels that connect seamlessly to the house.
The wooden louvers in the sliding frames are made of Western Red Cedar. These slats are placed at an angle of 25 degrees and thus offer a nice view through the panels.
The wooden slats are in a fixed position, the louver panels slide from left to right – and back again. With this project operation is manually. The aluminium parts are coated in RAL 7016, anthracite grey.
The three sliding panels have no fewer than three functions. They provide protection against wind and sun and aesthetically complete the facades of the house. Exactly as the owner imagined.
