Trapezia, C100, Van Vliet Architects, Residence, Leidschendam, NL
Leidschendam-Voorburg is located directly above The Hague and is almost merged with it. The South Holland municipality is located on the Vliet canal, dug way back in the Middle Ages.
Here is a residence fitted with unique louvers. By Sunshield, in collaboration with Van Vliet Architects in Leidschendam. During the design phase, the slats were set in a fixed position.
The two louver systems both have the shape of a trapezium. At the corner where the two systems meet, the side is 1.7 meters high. The blinds taper from that corner.
The louvers are only placed at the top of the windows. The slat of choice here is the C100. A C-shaped louver with a width of 100 mm. The blades are put in an angle of 45 degrees.
The aluminum components are coated in RAL 9011, graphite black, with a gloss level of 30%. This gives the slats a matte appearance. The overall appearance is stunning.
