Rectangle, 96E, Solar-Shield, Garden House, West Midlands, UK
The West Midlands is a county in the west of England, obviously. Although highly urbanised, the area is surrounded by a green belt with a rural allure where it is wonderfully relaxing.
Here, the garden house of a detached residence has been fitted with unique louvres. By Sunshield, in collaboration with business partner Solar-Shield based in Claverley (UK).
Is this a louver wall in a facade, or are these facade louvers? That is open to discussion. The louver system is custom-made and professionally installed. That is certain in any case.
The louver system is rectangular in shape and measures 1 by 1.5 metres. The residents have opted for the 96-E louver, which has a blade with a width of 96 millimetres.
If the louvers are fully open, the view between the slats is 9 centimetres. This allows you to easily regulate incoming daylight and ventilation under the overhang of the outbuilding.
The operation is wireless. You can easily open or close the louvres with a remote control. Or at any desired position in between, that is infinitely variable.
The aluminium parts are coated in RAL 7016. Due to the gloss level of 30%, the anthracite grey colour has a matte appearance, which contrasts nicely with the white plastered walls.
The plastic components, such as the clips that hold the slats, are black.
