Triangles, 150E, Studio MBC, Villa, Reeuwijk, NL
All 13 Reeuwijk lakes are rectangular, the result of peat extraction in the 18th century. Nowadays, these peat lakes are a popular destination for waterfowl, water sports enthusiasts and pleasure boaters.
Here, a modern villa has been equipped with unique louvers. By Sunshield, commissioned by the lighting and design agency Studio MBC in Reeuwijk.
The two gables of the house are equipped with louver systems with the geometry of a straight triangles. At the base, these are nine meters wide and the height is almost six meters.
The louvers are tiltable and driven by motors. You can easily open or close them with a remote control. Or put them in any desired position in between, which can be done stepless.
The residents have opted for the 150-E louver. The blade of this slat has a width of 150 mm. The step size, the space between the louvers when they are fully open, is 14 centimeters.
All aluminum parts are coated in RAL 7021. The gloss level of 30% gives the black-gray color a matte appearance. The plastic components, such as the clips that hold the slats, are black.
