Rectange/triangle, 96E, J.A. Roetgerink, Almelo, NL
In the area of Almelo in the Dutch province of Overijssel, there is a detached house fitted with unique louvers. By Sunshield, in collaboration with Contractor company J.A. Roetgerink in Goor.
On sunny days, a large window in the rear of this house allowed in addition to daylight also a lot of solar heat to enter the room. That required a solution.
This window is 2.60 meters wide and five meters high and has the geometric shape of a polygon. The window starts as a rectangle, but the top meter has a triangular shape.
The residents opted for the 96-E louver, a blade with a sleek design and a width of 96 mm. If the louvers are fully open, the view between the slats is 9 centimetres.
With this step size of 90 millimetres, the 96-E is suitable for many projects and is therefore rightly the most popular louver. Followed by its bigger brother, the 150-E.
The slat system is operated by a motor. With a remote control, users can easily open and close the louvers, or in any desired position in between.
All aluminium components, such as the slats and supports, as well as the frames and overhang, are coated in RAL 7106. The gloss level is 30%, which gives the anthracite grey colour a matte appearance.
The owners of the house are very satisfied now that the problems with solar heating have been resolved. The louvers are very effective as sun protection and provide the necessary privacy.
